We know environment is full of resources where some are known as advantageous and some are dreadful. As a Bangladeshi, no doubt to say, we are living in a problematic ground where every day we are drowning by the saline water due to global warming. Especially we are unable to meet our basic needs due to lack of indigenous technology development and lack of knowledge for exogenous technology management. So that, we have to conduct fruitful R&D which will meet up our basic needs.  Fruitful R&D can find out the use of all natural resources and its innovation can help us for sustainable development.

As per my realization- Biotechnology means the proper utilization of natural resources. As a Biotechnologist, I think every resource has impact either positive or negative. But we have to find out the best use of those resources through proper R&D and Innovation. The multidisciplinary subject Biotechnology can help us to be a successful researcher and innovator.  To make our Bangladesh a middle income country from least developed country (LDC), we have to implement Biotechnology more and more in every single sector i.e. agricultural, health, ready-made garments, textile, leather, tea, food, ship breaking and environment sector. If we can utilize our best effort and acquaintance then we can easily overcome our problems.

My home district is Netrokona which means Cone of Eye. Everyday Mogra, Kongsho, Dhonu and Sumesshory Rivers soggy the land of Netrakona and make her land golden. These rivers devise the land of Netrakona fertile and provide lots of fresh water fishes like Mohasol (Tor tor), Rita (Rita rita), Gangmagur (Plotosus caniusetc). The rivers flow over Netrakona and make an outline like Cone of Eye. That is why its name is Netrakona.

I have taken my primary and secondary education from Netrakona Chandranath High School which stands beside the river Mogra and spreading her light of education from 1909 to date (More than Hundred years). The Faculty of Life Sciences of UODA is one of the renowned section in Bangladesh where more than 400 students take Bachelors and Masters Degree each session.  Biotechnology & Genetic Engineering is one of the largest department of Faculty of Life Sciences of UODA. During my graduation I have completed a thesis project under the supervision of Professor Mohammed Rahmatullah, Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, UODA.
